Assistant Coach Sara
My name is Sara Laudeman, and I am a sophomore at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte studying architecture and mathematics. I was born in Colorado, but raised in Durham, which has always been home to me. I was home-schooled through high school. The same year I graduated high school, I graduated with an Associates of Science degree from the local community college, Durham Tech. From a young age, I have loved the water. I started swimming with Eno Valley when I was seven, and have been swimming ever since. I started swimming competitively with NSS for 3 years at age 10, and then moved to YOTA, where I fell even further in love with the sport. I worked as a volunteer coach with the Durham branch of YOTA for 4 years, and have been a lifeguard for the past three years. I have always felt at home on the pool deck and in the water, and I especially enjoy working to help the younger participants in the sport to learn, grow, and excel. I am a strong believer of swimming as a means to develop skills that are applicable in and out of the pool. In my free time, I swim, read, write, and play an assortment of other sports. I am excited to have a chance to share my love of the sport with others!
